    Do you ever struggle with folding your laundry? Or am I a uniquely dishevelled person? I reckon I'm not, because I've seen "relatable" memes about how people have their laundry washed and dried but when it comes to folding it they're like. I'm not going to do that. recreated from memory      So sometimes, I've got my clean and dry laundry in a bag in a big pile, and it sits there in my room. And it stays there for an hour, or a day, or a couple days. And except for when I actually need a shirt or a pair of socks or something, it's as though it does not exist. I completely forget about its existence. It's in my room, and within my vision. I walk past it and even look at it, but it doesn't register as something that needs to be done.  I think I just found a new favorite art piece. Look at this: Just a bunch of sunflower seeds, right? Wrong. They are hand crafted replicas of sunflower seeds made out of porcelain. And there are ONE HUNDRED MILLION of them. And ALL of them were HAND CRAFTED . Every single individual one. HAND PAINTED . 1600 PEOPLE spent 2.5 YEARS hand crafting porcelain sunflower seeds. They take up 100 cubic metres and weigh 150 TONS . You used to be able to go into the pile and walk around: Absolutely insane. I love art. The installation is aptly named Sunflower Seeds, by Ai Weiwei. It's interesting to zoom in on the picture and look at what individual people are doing. Lots of people just lying or sitting on it, resting. One person seems to be reading a book. Another one has a handful of seeds cupped in their hand, inspecting and appreciating them.       I got a microscope! It can zoom in at 120x! While on my way to pick it up from the post office, I picked up a fallen flower so that I could zoom in on it ! It was apparently a crocus flower. The inner part of it had a whole sea of pollens!     My phone camera can't do it justice, it looked very pretty through the lens; a very bright, golden color.     On one of the petals, there was also what I think is a seed or an egg of some sort. On the left is a drop of cherry jam. Look at that bubble pattern on it! And on the right, it's some shaving foam. It looks foamy, no real surprise here. I think I'll be looking at every household item and leaf and pebble I find under this microscope for the next few days.  

     A second new Mitski song has been released. It's called "I'll Change For You".      This one is a little more straightforward than the last one, which was more metaphorical (and I wrote about it here ). Since the release of that first song we got more information about the new album, including its title and cover art. It's called "Nothing Is About To Happen To Me," and the album art depicts a cat that has absolutely nothing about to happen to it.     When I first saw it, it kind of reminded me of this one comic by tumblr user catcrumb:     So, some of the lyrics from I'll Change For You called to my mind some lyrics from Mitski's Nobody. Here, we have the lines "Bars, such magic places.  You can be with other people without having anyone at all." Spatial Concept ‘Waiting,’ Lucio Fontana (1960)       So I was looking at artwork from Lucio Fontana, as one does, when I came across this series of paintings called  La Fine di Dio (The End of God.) Lucio Fontana's whole deal is that he pierces holes into the canvases that he works on. "My greatest discovery is the hole," he says. That is a direct quote, I'm being serious. Some of his works consist almost only of pierced canvases. There's the quintessential "Waiting" which is a canvas that has been slashed one time, with a black fabric behind it, giving it the appearance of being a void.     He has some higher concept works too, La Fine di Dio being one of them. The canvases are more uniquely shaped, being sort of egg-like instead of rectangles. The colors are bold, and the size and arrangement of the pierced holes seem more deliberate, as if to create a pattern.     It's not uncommon for small-time vendors and food stands and stuff to have branding that is cobbled together from random sources. So you'll have a carwash or a pizzeria that has a photoshopped Mario as its mascot. I find this phenomenon to be charming, I think we end up with off-brand versions of characters that look bad in a really funny way.      Some while ago I stumbled upon this ice cream shop that had a sign with the seven dwarves on it. It was the Disney version of the dwarves, based on the 1937 designs for them. But there was something else about them. They looked like 3D models, and something about the colors and the lighting looked very familiar.      For each of the past three days I happened to watch a movie that had the house of a mouse in it.  This happened out of complete coincidence, it wasn't intentional at all. I, and lots of others, have this idyllic idea of a mouse house where the mice sleep in tin cans or match boxes, and they slice a strawberry as if it were a piece of ham, but I couldn't have pointed out any specific examples. That was, until 3 days ago.     The first of these houses was in Disney's Robin Hood. They have an old, patched up shoe that has been fashioned into a bed for two. They have a big (or rather, regular sized) candle next to their bed. Several small knick knacks are laid about in their house, like a thread spool, a thimble, and a wine cork. I think the house was inside a church, so maybe the cork is from communion wine? And they have a carpet made of straw, that has been patched up with a blue fabric.
